An Appeal for Reconciliation

  1. Rural and city communities endure the terror of military invasion and acts of terrorism.

  2. Wars, local, regional, national and international generate major humanitarian disasters.

  3. Both sides blame the other. Both sides claim the other side must take responsibility.

  4. Both sides engage in a grim cycle of retaliation and revenge.

  5. Both sides employ fear and blame to sustain public support for killing and maiming citizens on the other side.

  6. One side develops civilised values of negotiation and reconciliation.

  7. One side learns to listen to the other side.

  8. One side develops a profound change of policy.

  9. One side develops a way to a resolution.

  10. We, the citizens, make our concerns felt in the corridors of power.
